Apart from the early morning rain witnessed today, commemorating the passing on of the reggae music legend and his “Send Down The Rain” single hit song, sympathizers have rained their condolences in reaction.
The legend, who had battled cancer over several months, was finally defeated by the deadly ailment.
He died at about 11:45pm (Nigerian Time), June 1, 2020 in the United States, where his immediate family resides.
His passage was made known by his manager as affirmed through social media.
Majek Fashek, whose real name is Majekodunmi Fashek, was a household name in the 80s and 90s.
Majek made musical hits, appealing to both young and old, as his songs were revolutionary.
One of his hit songs, which won multiple awards was “Send Down The Rain” , part of his “Prisoner of Conscience” album released in 1988.
